Where are the best places to surf in Cornwall?<\/h3>

Cornwall is well known by surfers as being one of the top surfing spots in Europe. Tickling the Atlantic, it offers great breaks on both the North and South coast and caters to surfers of all levels. The abundance of choice and the difficulty deciding where to surf next is an awesome issue to have!<\/p>

5) Giwthian Beach<\/strong><\/h3>

Giwithian makes our list as it is one of the best spots for beginners to jump on a board and get stuck in. It's a quiet beach, away from the hustle and bustle of many of the others on the list, having only a little cafe and a little shop.<\/p>

On one side of the beach, the waves are controlled and perfect for beginners. Whereas, on the opposite side the waves build in power and can get a little rough. Great for surfers of all levels.<\/p>

4) Perranporth Beach<\/h3>

Perranporth beach is a bit more known and can get a bit busy. It is still one of our favourite beaches in Cornwall though. The beach enjoys great waves right along it, and is also pretty beautiful with oodles of natural scenery. Perfect for when you are taking a break.<\/p>

Talking about taking a break, the beach has a bar directly on the beach. The Watering Hole<\/a> has great food, drink and live music throughout summer.<\/p>

3) Praa Sands Beach<\/h3>

Praa Sands is a very quiet beach, almost deserted throughout the winter months. The waves here can be hard to read and strong, so this is definitely best saved for when you are feeling a bit adventurous.<\/p>

2) Porthleven Beach<\/h3>

This is one of Cornwall's top reef breaks, with plenty of power smashing in up a deep channel. With waves up to 12ft, this is definitely one for only the most confident surfers.<\/p>


1) Fistral Beach, Newquay<\/h3>

Fistral is widely regarded as the best surfing spot in Cornwall. Consistent and strong waves make this the go to spot for almost every surfer.<\/p>

Fistral beach is also the home to Boardmasters Festival and the connected Boardmasters Open. The Open is the UK's biggest surf competition, attracting some of the UK's best surfers.<\/p>

Newquay is also home to Kernow Waves Surf Clothing<\/a> (Meaning that we are a little bit biased when it comes to the best place to surf!)<\/p>

There are plenty more places to surf in Cornwall, and many people would rank many other spots as their top 5 places to surf. The truth is, Cornwall is inundated with quality surf throughout the county.<\/p>
